The Indian Endodontic Society (IES) has established the IES-PRIDE (Platform for Research and Innovation for Dental Entrepreneurship) initiative to foster indigenous development in dental technology. As dentistry continues to advance through innovative technologies, the need for affordable and accessible dental care becomes increasingly critical, especially in India, where 85% of dental technology is imported. This vertical of Indian Endodontic Society has been established with objective and mission of promotion oral health research for indigenous development of dental equipment /materials and is organised by Dental Technology Innovation Hub, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences.
The Innovation Challenge, IES-PRIDE aims to provide a platform bringing together dentists, technical experts, and industry stakeholders and creating a collaborative ecosystem that encourages Dental Technology or Product Development.
Support the development of indigenous dental equipment and materials through research and innovation.
Encourage the creation of cost-effective, locally suitable dental technologies.
To foster a sustainable local economy by promoting dental entrepreneurship.
To foster research and innovation in dental technology through indigenous solutions.
To create a robust ecosystem for nurturing dental entrepreneurship and contribute to global advancements in dental care.
Proposals may be submitted at any time during the year, allowing continuous intake and faster evaluation of promising innovations.
Shortlisted teams will undergo mid-term virtual mentoring, providing technical, clinical, execution, and IP-related guidance from subject experts.
The program prioritizes Faculty Members and Private Practitioners as Lead Applicants to ensure ownership, continuity, and execution discipline. (Postgraduate students may participate as team members.)
Selected projects may receive financial support equivalent to ₹10,00,000 for supporting all the stages of product development (Prototype development, Validation, IP support, Industry linkage and mentoring).
